The Central Plains have played about 75-100 gigs over the last couple of years in Pittsburgh. After releasing our second record “walk on beaches” we went on a tour through the mid west and made it down south back in May. Having played so much locally the past couple years we’ve decided to take a couple of months off to refresh and build new sounds. (we’ve already started ! ) Nik & Jake Hanner from Pgh based band Donora have recently collaborated on a new track called “Andrew” ( a story told inspired by a schizophrenic kid ) which will be available for listening in September of 2011, this will be our first new song since releasing “walk on beaches” Nik will be going to New York City to work with Clothing Company “Rag n Bone” and explore the open mic and singer songwriter/ music scene while there. Kraig decided he needed a break from the U.S. only to find himself drinking pina’ colada’s on the beach some where in Costa Rica. Colin will continue to play with his other band “the Hawk eyes”, We’ll be back with new songs when we are ready. It’s safe to say that our tour with boca chica which just came to an end was quite fun, we had a lot of stops, a gig in a cemetery being one of the most memorable. We Played a bunch of kickin’ gigs around the mid-west, Knoxville was amazing and so was Atlanta. Such a nice place to visit, it was no doubt 90 degrees.. Now that we are home in Pittsburgh we will be playing some outdoor venues and some sweet summer time gigs:
